A little about the staff...

Jim Bush

Jim Bush is a former US Marine and Retired Engineer. His love for animals and desire to provide the best pet facility in the Rocky Mountain West has resulted in the construction of Happy Trails Pet Spa.

Jim has loved, bred, shown, and trained dogs since his youth in central Iowa. This facility is his dream to provide the most comfortable, cleanest, safest, and most home like location for your pet boarding, grooming, and training in Colorado.

Come see our log cabin home for your pets.

Nealy Piazza

Kennel Manager

Nealy Piazza is the kennel manager as well as the massage and acupressure therapist at Happy Trails Pet Spa and Resort. She is certified through the Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage in both canine and equine techniques, as well as Reiki.

She has been actively involved with horses and natural horsemanship for over 30 years and was involved with the family dog kennel, Coblr Corgis, throughout grade school and high school. Her interest in animal wellness grew out of these experiences, and much of her college education revolved around animal physiology and nutrition.

Massage and acupressure was the perfect fit and she thoroughly enjoys giving animals the benefit of hands on and whole body healing treatments.

Scott & Netessa Calahan

Natessa Callahan

Kennel Attendant / Kennel Assistant & Pet Groomer

Natessa Callahan has been working in pet kennels (not just for dogs), as well as washing and drying animals, from dogs and cats to rabbits and ferrets, since 2004. She has been a member of the Happy Trails family since 2009. Her life has been filled with love for all kinds of animals and her home has been shared with the usual cats and dogs. But she has also welcomed turtles, fish, and iguanas.
Natessa lives in Fort Collins with her husband, Scott, and their daughter Lilly, who was born April 2013. They have a cardigan welsh corgi, Brock and a grey tabby, Ferran. She has a bachelors in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado.

Kara Videll

Kara Videll

Kennel Attendant

Kara has had a passion and love for animals her entire life. She hopes to pursue a career with animals someday but has not quite landed on the exact career yet. She is a student at Front Range Community College and will complete her associates degree in science in the spring of 2015.

She has had a many animals growing up including a cat, a number of frogs, a few dogs (currently only Buddy, as seen in the picture), and a horse named Genesee. Kara adores animals and will make certain every animal at Happy Trails will feel loved during his/her stay!

Joel Jensen

Kennel Attendant

Joel Jensen is a retired veterinarian from North Carolina.  He practiced small animal medicine for over 40 years then moved to Colorado to be near family.  He missed the interaction with the dogs and cats, so he came to Happy Trails as a kennel attendant to get his daily 'doggie fix'.
